About the Journal
Aims and scope
The Journal of Emerging Science, Innovation & Advancement (JESIA) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal publishing original research, review articles and short communications across the emerging sciences and their application in practice.
The journal is deliberately broad and interdisciplinary. We consider work in, and across, areas including:
- Applied and computational sciences, data science and artificial intelligence
- Materials, energy and environmental science
- Engineering, instrumentation and emerging technologies
- Health, life and biomedical sciences
- Innovation studies, technology management and science policy
We welcome submissions from researchers at every career stage and from every region. Manuscripts are assessed on the rigour of the work and the clarity of its reporting, not on the perceived novelty or impact of the findings.
Open access statement
JESIA is a fully open-access journal. All articles are freely available to read, download and share from the moment they are published. There is no subscription charge and no paywall for readers.
Peer review
All research submissions are screened by the editorial office and, if suitable, sent for external peer review by reviewers with relevant subject expertise. Editorial decisions and reviewer reports are recorded in the journal's editorial system, so authors can follow the progress of their manuscript at each stage.
Publication ethics
Authors are expected to present their work honestly and completely, to disclose any competing interests and sources of funding, and to obtain appropriate ethical approval for research involving human participants or animals. Submissions must be original and must not be under consideration elsewhere. Allegations of misconduct are investigated by the editorial office, and articles may be corrected or retracted where necessary.
Archiving
The journal uses the preservation facilities available through its publishing platform to keep published content available over the long term.
